Note: CBL uses ISINs as primary identifier for U.S. securities.
- Treasury securities, including:
- Bills, Notes, Bonds;
- TCAL (U.S. Treasury Callable Corpus);
- STRIPs (Securities in which there is Separate Trading of Registered Interest and Principal);
- CUBEs (Coupons Under Book-Entry);
- Fedwire-eligible Federal Agency securities;
- Federally Sponsored Agency securities, including:
- Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) securities;
- Federal Home Loan Bank (FHLB) securities;
- Student Loan Marketing Association (SLMA) securities;
- Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC) securities;
- Mortgage Backed securities;
- Other domestic and foreign DTC-eligible debt securities;
- Global bonds;
- Foreign-targeted bonds (Reg S, TEFRA D);
- Certain money market instruments (Commercial Paper and Certificates of Deposit);
- Certain open-end mutual funds;
- Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) eligible in DTC;
- DTC-eligible equities and equity products, including:
- Closed-end mutual funds;
- Limited partnership bonds (see Note below);
- Warrants;
- Depository Receipts (ADRs, GDRs);
- U.S. Restricted Securities.
Note:
- U.S. limited partnership shares and other equity-linked instruments are not eligible in CBL.
- CBL does not act as withholding agent on income paid by U.S. limited partnerships as it does not fall within the scope of Non-Resident Alien (NRA) withholding. The U.S. paying agent considers recipients of the income to be foreign partners and all income from such instruments as therefore subject to the maximum withholding tax rate with no relief at source or reclaim possible. As a consequence, CBL customers should not hold such securities on behalf of U.S. recipients.
