the data reported to  customers for the payment of Greek sales tax linked to CBL- CBL delivery against payment (sales) transactions will be enhanced.

Background

For the purpose of the Greek Sales Tax, effective 12 April 2021, Clearstream Banking, as a registered intermediary in the settlement chain, prepares tax declaration files, on behalf of its customers, for CBL- CBL delivery against payment transactions (internal trades) settling in Clearstream Banking’s books.

Currently, Clearstream Banking provides the CBL unique transaction reference number (1 to 7 alphanumerical characters) that identifies the delivery against payment transaction; this reference is visible in Xact Web Portal in the Cash instruction query.

Impact on customers

To enable customers to better identify their underlying clients, Clearstream Banking will start reporting the following to customers:

  • the sender’s reference (SEME) present in the field :20C: of the customer instruction (MT543);
  • ISIN (International Securities Identification Number),: and
  • Quantity (quantity of securities sold).
