Additional significant digit in common codes
As already indicated in our Operational News of 31 October 2013 announcing the change for late November, please be advised that the first common codes with 9 significant digits have been created today.
- New format: 9 digits, all significant, for example 100002874
- Previous format: 9 digits, including a prefix set to zero that was usually ignored, for example 098153876
Please be reminded that the new common code format applies only to securities accepted as of today and has no impact on existing common codes. The ISIN code structure as defined in the ISO 6166 standard, as well as the check digit calculation method remain unchanged.
