Romania: Enhancement for Shareholder Identification Disclosures ‒ Update

Clearstream Banking1 informs clients that effective
immediately
Clearstream Banking will respond to requests for Shareholder Identification Disclosures (SID) for the Romanian market in ISO 20022 format instead of MT564 DSCL MAND for SID. This follows the recent adoption of ISO 20022 format in the Romanian market.
Note: However, in accordance with Romanian market practice, SID related to regulatory requirements, corporate events, general meetings and bondholder disclosures will be sent via MT564 DSCL MAND.
Impact on clients
Clearstream Banking reminds its clients that it is compulsory to disclose the beneficial owner of their Romanian holdings when requested by the local central securities depository (CSD), as described in the Disclosure Requirements - Romania.
Clients who do not want to grant such information to Clearstream Banking should refrain from holding such Securities in their account with Clearstream Banking and would bear any consequences in case they fail to provide the final beneficial owner's details upon Clearstream Banking’s request.
