Armenia: New domestic link
Clearstream Banking1 informs customers that it will implement a domestic link to Armenia on
11 July 2016
with a direct custody account at the Central Depository of Armenia and a direct cash account at the Central Bank of Armenia, adding the Armenia Dram (AMD) as a full settlement currency.
The domestic link will initially provide settlement and custody services for Armenian government bonds and supranational bonds.
The link opening forms part of Clearstream Banking’s expansion of its custody network including the Caucasus region, and aims to help foster foreign investor access to the local market.
Impact on customers
Clearstream Banking customers will be able to use the following services:
- Internal free of payment and against payment settlement in all eligible settlement currencies, including Armenian Dram (AMD);
- External free of payment settlement;
- Securities and cash reconciliation;
- Asset servicing.
We plan to expand the service offering as demand grows.
