Georgia: New domestic link
Clearstream Banking1 reminds its customers that it will implement a domestic link to Georgia on
11 January 2016
The domestic link will initially provide settlement and custody services for Georgian government bonds and supranational bonds.
The link opening forms part of Clearstream Banking’s expansion of its custody network including the Caucasus region, and aims to help foster foreign investor access to the local market.
Clearstream Banking has appointed the Bank of Georgia as its local sub-custodian and cash correspondent bank for the Georgian market.
Impact on customers
Clearstream Banking customers will be able to use the following services:
- Internal free of payment and against payment settlement in all settlement eligible currencies, including Georgian Lari (GEL, following our announcement A15219, published on 20 November 2015, updated on 7 December 2015 and 8 January 2016);
- External free of payment settlement;
- Custody and cash reconciliation;
- Asset servicing.
