Clearstream & Deloitte White Paper

How will fund distribution evolve as traditional platforms, digital registers and tokenized share classes begin to operate side by side? Clearstream’s new white paper, developed in collaboration with Deloitte, explores how tokenization is moving from a technology topic to a strategic value-chain question for the fund industry.

The paper looks at the forces reshaping investment management: growing pressure to reduce operational complexity, the rise of digital-first investor expectations, and the need for interoperable infrastructure that can connect today’s fund processing backbone with tomorrow’s digital distribution and ownership models.

Rather than framing tokenization as a standalone product innovation, the white paper examines its broader implications for transfer agency, investor registers, distribution channels, settlement, custody and governance. It also considers why hybrid models are likely to dominate in the near term, with traditional and digital rails coexisting as the market moves toward more scalable and connected fund infrastructure.

Official launch at Fund Forum Monaco

We held our whitepaper launch event during Fund Forum Monaco on 23 June, bringing together industry participants to explore the next era of fund distribution and the role of interoperable, tokenized infrastructure in shaping the market’s future.

  • Key findings and themes
Laurent Collet, Partner, Deloitte Luxembourg, and Paolo Brignardello, Head of Customer Success, FundsDLT, Clearstream Fund Services, highlighted how tokenization is shifting from a product innovation to a foundational infrastructure layer, with interoperability across traditional and digital models emerging as a critical success factor.
  • Clearstream perspective and vision
Philippe Seyll, CEO, Clearstream Fund Services, and Olivier Portenseigne, Head of Digital Products, Clearstream Fund Services, outlined the vision for tokenisation and Digital Transfer Agency, positioning Digital TA as an orchestration layer enabling more connected, efficient and scalable fund distribution.

Explore Clearstream’s Digital Transfer Agency solution

The themes explored in the white paper are also reflected in Clearstream’s Digital Transfer Agency solution, which supports asset managers and asset servicers in modernizing investor register operations, automating core fund transaction workflows and connecting with existing and emerging distribution channels. Find out more about Clearstream’s Digital Transfer Agency solution here.
