Warning: Fraudulent App Misusing Clearstream’s Name
Reference
As part of Cyber Security Awareness Month, Clearstream would not only like to raise awareness of general risks in the digital space but also point out that fraudulent activities involving our intellectual property rights have recently become known.
Specifically, an app named "ClearsPro" has been identified, which falsely creates the impression of being associated with Clearstream. The aim is to induce affected individuals to make investments by creating the impression that these are legitimate offers.
According to current information, the app has been removed from official app stores. However, it cannot be ruled out that it may still be present on individual devices.
Important Notice: Clearstream does not operate any app for private customers and does not offer trading accounts or financial services to private investors. We will never ask private investors to make payments or disclose personal information by app, email, phone or messenger service (for example, WhatsApp).
In the spirit of an active security culture, we recommend:
- Not making any payments or transmitting any data in general and explicitly in connection with this app.
- Uninstalling the app if it is present on your device.
- Reporting the matter to the competent law enforcement authorities.
Cyber Security Awareness Month reminds us that digital security is a shared responsibility. We are committed to protecting our brand and stakeholders and welcome all efforts to raise awareness but ask for a clear distinction between Clearstream and the fraudulent activities in order to avoid any misconception.
