Mexico: Citibanamex Depository 54 change of legal entity to Banco Citi Mexico S.A.
Clearstream Banking1 informs clients that effective
2 December 2024
Citibanamex will be restructured and its institutional businesses, including Securities Services, will be divested and integrated into a new bank established by Citigroup and called Banco Citi Mexico S.A., Institución de Banca Múltiple, Grupo Financiero Citi México (Citi Mexico).
By operation of Mexican law, upon consummation of the reorganisation, on the effective date, Banco Citi Mexico will among other assets and liabilities of the institutional client group business, hold any and all of Banamex’s rights, title, interest, liabilities, duties and obligations under, and with respect to the former signed Agreement between Citibank N.A., Banamex and Clearstream Banking S.A..
Clearstream Banking S.A. has performed necessary diligence on Banco Citi Mexico S.A.
Impact on clients
Cash services
There is no change to the Clearstream Banking cash account.
Clients should advise local counterparties that the BIC CITIUS33MER remains (as communicated in Announcements A20165 and A24005).
Clients should advise local counterparties to amend the CLABE account number, as below, to continue use of the Sistema de Pagos Electronicos Interbancarios (“SPEI”), the Mexican RTGS system:

Settlement services
The Clearstream Banking depository number will remain as Dep 54.
There is no change to the Clearstream custody account.
All settlement instructions will remain the same.
Banco Citi Mexico S.A. will maintain the same account numbers for the 4 digits at Indeval (last four digits).
However, the five initial digits (02061) will change as follows:
- Equities account: 02061 8499
- Fixed Income account: 02061 8425
- CPOs account: 02061 8498
- Mexican National account: 02061 8421
Clients should advise their local counterparties accordingly.
